Welcome to Alpine Meadow Maltese, where we nurture and love each and every puppy until we find them a forever home.
The road to my heart is paved with paw prints
My name is Sherri Esau, and I am the breeder/owner, and operator of Alpine Meadow Maltese. Calvin and I, have had the pleasure of raising Maltese dogs since 2006. We have worked hard learning the Maltese breed, and how to care for them properly. We enjoy sharing our home with our little, adorable pups. It gives us much pleasure to place our puppies with a family who will love and care for them as much as we do!
Thank you for stopping by!
I Am A Breeder…. Food receipts for my dogs food bills. Whelping supplies consume my cupboards. I keep vaccines in my fridge, ringers on hand, my vet is on speed dial. Puppy pens fill my living room, where the puppies can safely play and sleep. I am a breeder, who when bad weather strikes, I save the dogs and puppies before sheltering myself. My feet find the way to the puppy pens before I have even eaten breakfast in the morning. They are my last stop before heading off to bed. My personal plans revolve around delivering, and hand feeding the puppies. I plan my days/weeks around heat date, whelp dates, and seeing off the puppies to their new homes. I am a breeder, who has been covered in more body fluids from my dogs than I care to admit. My conversations with friends and family, revolves around the dogs/puppies. When I get exhausted and feel like I can’t do another sleepless night hand feeding a puppy, I remind myself the effort is worth the reward to see them healthy and off to a happy home. I am a breeder, who sacrifices my own sanity and rest to wake up every hour to check on a dam in labor, or soon to be. The heartbreak I suffer after caring for a weak puppy, to only lose the puppy is hard to put to words. Or, the feeling of pure enjoyment to see a weak puppy strive and live after hours and days of nurturing. My time invested is never in vain. I am a breeder, who has bottle fed, syringe fed, and even sponge fed a puppy. I do whatever it takes to ensure a puppies survival. I have learned to be proficient at vaccinations, sub-q fluid administration, syringe feeding, taking temperatures, and bottle feeding. I am a breeder, to meet a new litter of puppies is still as exciting as the first. The sixty-three days to wait for a litter is always an anxious time. I am there when Mom delivers her pups, ready with towels and heating pads. Happiness and sadness are sometimes intermingled. I am a breeder, who breathes the first breath of life into a puppy, who cannot for themselves. My work load is heavy in the first 14 days before the puppies open their eyes, before they have their first bark, and start exploring. I am a conscientious lover of animals and I have found my niche. I am a breeder, and I am not cruel, uncaring, or criminal. I take great responsibility for every life I bring into this world and ensure it goes to a wonderful, loving, and perfect home. An extension of the same love and care they received in my own home. The money I make, is earned through blood, sweat, tears, and love. My greatest joy is giving a healthy puppy to a happy home. The cards of thanks, gifts from clients, and the pictures of my loving puppies with their new families are the fringe benefits of my efforts. I am an animal lover, a nurse, a midwife, heavy laborer, customer service representative, a marketer, and proudly, I am a Breeder!
